Manstree Vineyard occupies a warm sunny slope     1 1/2 miles from the Exeter city boundary at Shillingford st George and has been producing commercial white wine vintages for the last 27 years.

Vines flourish in an area of the county known as 'Devons Frying Pan' having a low summer rainfall due to the double rain shaddow effect from Dartmoor and the Haldon Hills.

Manstree takes its name from the road that passes the farm and that of a nearby field indicating that there was once a gallows for sheep stealers and other felons, literally a

Man's Tree.

There are currently five varieties grown on 4 1/2 acres the main 3 being Seyval Blanc which is used to produce our dry & sparkling wines, Madeleine Angevine a south west speciality vine used to produce our medium dry wines & siegerebbe a relation of the gewurztraminer grape which makes a unique medium dry wine.

Successive Manstree Wines have won many awards over the years in competitions on both a regional, national and international basis.

We have recently planted some red grape vines, and in 2009 we picked our first commercial crop from them which was made into a Rose Wine now available!

WINES 2012
We normally have at least 5 - 6 different still wines available at any one time. The wines that we are currently selling are as follows.

2009 OLD VINE MADELEINE DRY - £8.95 per bottle

A fresh yet mature tasting delicate dry wine which was made from fantastically ripe grapes grown on 30 year old Madeleine Angevine vines! The flavour is of honey in a glass!

BRONZE AWARD 2010 EWWOTY Competition

2009 SIEGERREBE MEDIUM DRY - £8.95 per bottle

This is one of our most popular wines and this vintage certainly has all the qualities of previous vintages. The flavour is of tropical fruits like melon and lychees.

BRONZE AWARD 2010 EWWOTY Competition

2009 RONDO ROSE DRY - £8.95 per bottle

This is the first Rose wine we have ever produced and we are pleased with the results!

It is a beautiful deep pink colour and tastes like summer soft fruits in a glass! BRONZE AWARD 2010 SWVA COMPETITION

2009 MAYVAL DRY - £7.95 PER BOTTLE

Recently released in July 2010 this young wine will develop well and has a good depth of flavour. It is slightly different in so far as it does not have the citrus zing of previous vintages but more of a melon/ peach flavour which is very attractive! BRONZE AWARD 2010 EWWOTY COMPETITION

PHOENIX MEDIUM DRY - £7.95 PER BOTTLE

A fruity smooth wine which has a good depth of flavour and smells like vanilla! Ideal wine to suit all palates as it is not too dry but not too sweet.BRONZE AWARD 2010 SWVA COMPETITION
